Role Summary
HRBP Director – Index Exchange, Toronto. Report to the VP, People & Culture. Support Engineering and Product teams with strategic people strategy, talent priorities, organizational design, employee relations, culture, analytics, and governance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the people strategy for Engineering and Product, aligning talent priorities with business goals.
- Partner with senior leaders (VP/C‑suite) to shape org design, workforce planning, and leadership capability.
- Act as trusted advisor and coach to leaders at all levels.
- Drive organizational effectiveness within high‑performing technical teams.
- Lead complex employee relations matters, providing risk‑based guidance and compliance.
- Champion a high‑performance, inclusive culture by coaching leaders to build diverse teams.
- Own and evolve the employee experience by identifying trends and implementing data‑driven solutions.
- Leverage people analytics and insights to inform strategy, measure impact of HR programs.
- Partner with Engineering and Product leaders to deliver career development frameworks and learning strategies for technical talent.
- Influence and lead change management initiatives for organizational and cultural transformations.
- Provide expert guidance on HR policies, practices, and governance, ensuring consistency and compliance across global teams.
- Collaborate across the People team (Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, L&D, etc.) for integrated talent solutions.
Qualifications
- Significant experience as an HR business partner for Software Engineering and product leadership in a high‑growth, global environment.
- Strong knowledge of global employment law, labor standards, and HR best practices.
- Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.
- Track record of influencing senior leaders and building credibility quickly.
- Expertise in organizational design, talent strategy, and leadership coaching.
- Data‑driven mindset; ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Strong business acumen with understanding of people strategy impact on performance.
- Extensive change management and transformation experience.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Self‑starter with proactive, solutions‑oriented approach and ownership.
- HR designation (e.g., CHRP, CHRL) or equivalent experience preferred.
