International Accounting Specialist

The International Accounting Specialist will be a key member of the team focusing on day-to-day international accounting operations for an innovative B2B SaaS organization. This is an opportunity to be a part of a fast-growing startup helping cancer patients around the world by managing our global financial activities and supporting our international expansion. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude, thrives on a dynamic team, and possesses a deep understanding of international financial regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to accounting activities for international statutory reporting, ensuring compliance with both local and IFRS / US GAAP.
• Prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and conduct analyses to support the monthly close processes.
• Analyze various balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with spend management and budget analysis
• Manage intercompany transactions, including the preparation of intercompany invoices and assisting with the repatriation process.
• Coordinate financial accounting and reporting for multiple international subsidiaries, including managing the consolidation of financial data.
• Assist with the financial integration of new subsidiaries, including aligning accounting practices with corporate standards.
• Assist with external audits, including statutory audits, and provide necessary documentation and support.
• Manage and document transfer pricing policies and ensure compliance with international regulations
• Oversee foreign currency transactions and hedging strategies to mitigate exchange rate risks
• Stay updated on changes in international accounting standards and tax laws.
• Support other accounting and finance functions and projects as needed

Required Experience

• 3-5+ years experience in Accounting
• 1-2+ years of hands-on experience in international accounting.
• Experience managing intercompany transactions and familiarity with foreign currency transactions
• Hands-on experience with international tax compliance and transfer pricing regulations.
• NetSuite or similar
• Familiarity with IFRS, US GAAP, and local accounting/tax standards across various countries.
• Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel

Preferred Experience

• 5-7+ years experience in Accounting
• 2-4+ years of hands-on experience in international accounting (Canada, UK, EU, APAC).
• CPA or Master's degree in Taxation
• Working knowledge of ASPE, AAS, UK GAAP
• Experience in a SaaS or technology company
• Advanced skills in Excel and other financial analysis tools.
• Proven process for performing complex technical research and analysis

Salary

• Salary will be commensurate with experience. Salary range will vary for international candidates and be commensurate with experience and geographical location.
