Elevate research in Geostatistics at the University of Alberta as a full-time professor. This in-person role focuses on mining engineering, spatial modeling, and environmental sustainability. The Faculty of Engineering welcomes applications for a tenure-track professor role in Geostatistics. Ideal candidates will possess expertise in orebody modeling, uncertainty quantification, and data science, enabling them to address complex resource sector challenges. Collaborate within a coordinated cluster of five faculty positions emphasizing interdisciplinary research in environmental and water resources engineering. Key Responsibilities:
• Develop multidisciplinary research programs in geostatistics
• Contribute to the Centre for Computational Geostatistics (CCG)
• Teach courses in Geotechnical, Mining, Environmental, and Water Resources engineering
• Engage in cross-disciplinary collaborations and joint student supervision
• Secure external funding for collaborative research initiatives Requirements:
• Ph.D. in Mining, Environmental, or related engineering
• Demonstrated expertise in geostatistics and spatial modeling
• Experience in collaborative research environments
• Ability to teach across multiple disciplines
