Assistant BOH (Inventory) Manager

Job Responsibility:

Since 2015, Farm has been providing safe access to cannabis in a discreet and professional environment while remaining customer-focused and service-minded in a high-volume retail setting. The Farm inventory team is responsible for all receiving and processing of all incoming products as well as the management of all standing inventory in-store. The Inventory Assistant Manager provides leadership and training to all members of the Inventory team; ensuring the loss prevention and inventory control strategy, execution and while assuring quality control over all perishable and non-perishable products. Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The Inventory Assistant Manager reports directly to the Store Manager for all things inventory and store related.
  • Leads the training and development of the Inventory team utilizing up-to-date standardized operating procedures and Farm management tools.
  • Demonstrates leadership in boosting team morale and inspiring a culture of service and learning.
  • Constantly drives performance through monitoring, planning, coaching, and appraising team results.
  • Manages the hiring with the Store Manager, firing, and corrective actions of Farm Inventory Team members based on Farm performance management policies and procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of each product within the complete range of new and current products available for purchase in-store.
  • Responsible that the Cannabis Register is accurate and compliant with BC regulations.
  • Inputs purchase orders into Inventory Management System in collaboration with the Farm Buyer.
  • Leads the team receiving product physically and inputting into POS/IMS system.
  • Assess inventory levels through inventory management system reports to formulate daily priorities, and communicate with marketing and front-of-house teams.
  • Ensures standing inventory levels low while not running out of product.
  • Ensures Quality assurance (data integrity) over inventory data within the inventory management system (POS/IMS).
  • Collaboratively processes purchased inventory and invoices with the accountant.
  • Leads daily/weekly auditing of inventory, all locations, based on inventory audit schedule.
  • Performs adjustments on inventory as needed following the FARM adjustment procedure.
  • Works collaboratively with Head Systems Administrator addressing systems issues
  • Submits monthly adjustment reports to Inventory District Manager.
  • Generates reports from Inventory Management System:
  • Products and Specials Report: Track high demand items
  • Transfer Advice: Tracks sales to manage to refill FOH drawers.
  • Inventory Reports: Tracks inventory history, location transfer reports, ticket history, monthly returns, and adjustments report.
  • Collaboratively works with the FOH Team to ensure par levels (till drawer configuration) and professional merchandising is accomplished.
  • Collaboratively works with the marketing team and other departments when applicable.
  • Manage the schedule for direct reports including team wants and needs.
  • Schedule inventory staff; Ensure shifts are covered: Staff illness, absence, time off requests while minimizing OT.
  • Correspond with the accountant to ensure payroll is administered correctly.
  • Identify and resolve issues in a collaborative, effective, and timely manner.
  • Ensure Policy and Compliance enforcement amongst production team maintaining positive relationships with City, Province, and Police.
  • Maintain a WorkSafe environment throughout the store.
  • Ensures that the back of house is maintained to be bright, organized, and clean.
  • Limit waste while driving a culture of environmentalism within Farm, managing garbage and recycling ensuring it is dealt with appropriately each day.
  • Assist the FOH Team with Budtending and customer service when and if required.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Inventory Management experience is required.
  • Leadership Management is an asset.
  • Intimate working knowledge of the most recently updated BC Cannabis Retail Store Terms and Conditions handbook required.
  • Strong working knowledge of POS systems, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Works well in high volume, high level of care, retail environment.
  • Significant cannabis knowledge is an asset.
  • Education requirement of post-secondary degree preferred.
  • BC Cannabis Selling It Right is required.
  • Experience with proactive loss prevention methodologies.
  • WHMIS certification and WorkSafe BC experience is an asset.

Terms of Employment:

  • Full-time position
  • Must be willing to sign Farm's terms of employment contract
  • Must be able to work a variety of night/weekend shifts when required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $51,000.00 per year
