Execution Contract Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Execution Contract Manager based in Canada. This role oversees commercial and contractual matters throughout the full project lifecycle, from initiation through closeout. You will work closely with Project Management, Legal, Procurement, Finance, and other stakeholders to manage contractual risk and support successful project execution. The position combines contract interpretation, commercial judgment, negotiation, claims management, and risk mitigation. You will advise execution teams on complex contractual matters while helping protect commercial interests and maintain strong customer and supplier relationships. The role offers significant influence across Design-Build, EP, and EPC projects, including complex contractor and subcontractor arrangements. With exposure to diverse stakeholders, projects, and geographies, you will also contribute to strengthening contract management practices and sharing best practices across the organization. Accountabilities: - Advise Project Managers and execution teams on complex contractual and commercial matters throughout project delivery. - Lead contract reviews at project initiation and closeout, including assessments of risks, opportunities, milestones, Incoterms, liquidated damages, claims, settlements, lien waivers, and releases . - Support EP and EP+ project execution , including contractor and subcontractor agreements, flow-down contracts, project controls, and quality management. - Identify, evaluate, and mitigate contractual, financial, and operational risks throughout the project lifecycle. - Prepare and lead negotiations involving change orders, claims, disputes, and contract settlements with customers, suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors. - Manage claims activities, including delay analysis, impact assessments, claim documentation, responses, and counterclaims . - Monitor liquidated damages, penalties, and other contractual exposures and advise relevant stakeholders on potential impacts. - Interpret contract requirements and provide guidance on contractual rights, obligations, compliance, and best practices . - Partner with Legal and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve contractual issues and disputes effectively.

- Provide training, guidance, and practical support on contract management processes and practices. - Capture and share lessons learned and best practices to continuously improve contract management across projects. Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business, Engineering, or a related field . - 10+ years of experience in commercial contract management, transactional work, contract negotiation, or a closely related discipline. - Strong knowledge of commercial contract terms and conditions , particularly within the North American market. - Experience with Design-Build, EP, or EPC contracts . - Demonstrated experience negotiating with customers, suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors . - Strong understanding of contractual risk, claims, change orders, and dispute resolution . - Experience working within matrix organizations and coordinating with multiple internal and external stakeholders. - Strong commercial judgment, financial acumen, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills . - Fluency in English ; French is an asset. - Ability and willingness to travel approximately 20% , including some international travel. - Experience with EP+ projects , including subcontractor management, flow-down agreements, project controls, and quality controls, is preferred. - Familiarity with water treatment technologies and related customer industries is an advantage. - Experience working across different cultures and geographies is a plus.
