Job Purpose
Reporting to the Owner of Rutherford International and NEXTalent, the junior accountant will be responsible for basic bookkeeping functions including, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, expenses reports, banking, and more. This is a hybrid role with a minimum requirement to work in the office 3 out of 5 days. Participate in lead generation research and support digital marketing of NEXTalent Marketplace and Assessment services.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct full-cycle Accounts Receivable.
- Process all Invoices matched to estimates sent to clients
- Preparation of âPending Invoiceâsâ report for projects in progress not invoiced for management
- Complete Accounts Receivable related month-end reconciliations including the processing of journal entries.
Conduct full-cycle Accounts Payable.
- Input bills, and ensure all bills are approved and processed in a timely manner.
- Review and process all expense reports matched to credit card statements
- Accurately prepare, reconcile, monthly vendor statements
- Accurately prepare, reconcile, monthly credit card statements
- Maintain and ensure the accuracy of all vendor files.
- Assists in preparation and reconciliation of month-end entries
- Ad hoc analysis and special projects, as required
Job Knowledge
- Ensure the effective application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Problem Solving
- Troubleshoot issues in a timely manner to resolve; escalate issues to Owner, as required.
Detail Orientation
- Ensure accuracy when processing transactions on a daily basis
Requirements
Qualifications
- Post-Secondary education
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Have an interest in the impact of AI on professional servicesâ
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, detail-oriented
Contract Scope Over Two Stages:
First Stage - Contract Term
- Emphasis for first 10 weeks - Mostly Bookkeeping focusing on compiling past expenses and posting to the ledger, preparing working papers for external accountant
- Executive Ass't focusing on digital marketing of NEXTalent Marketplace & Job Board
Second Stage - Scope & Status Revision - Less accouting and greater emphasis on NEXTalent's Advisory Services.
