Honorarium Position
Facilitate the training and organization of volunteers within the Kingston community to help foster an accepting and comforting environment for individuals on the Autism spectrum. Collaborate with a co-chair and your close-knit committee to develop awareness and fundraising initiatives and make a lasting impact within the community. Previous experience with children or individuals on the Autism spectrum is not required. Work closely with your Co-Chair, the Community Outreach Deputy Commissioners, and the Community Outreach Commissioner to make a tangible and lasting impact in the Queen’s community.

Expected Time Commitment and Remuneration
12-month term from May 1st, 2025 to April 30th, 2026 with a time commitment of 5 hours/week
If this position is subject to an honorarium, payouts will be in accordance with the Human Resources Honoraria Policy Grid 9.05.02 which can be accessed here:

Duties and Responsibilities
- Organize weekly meetings with the committee
- Work with your co-chair and committee to organize and execute events and initiatives
- Hire committee members and volunteers and act as a liaison between all parties
- Maintain contact with the Community Outreach Deputy Commissioners and the Community Outreach Commissioner to best access ASUS resources
- Assist in Commission-wide meetings, events and initiatives
