Technical Lead – Detail Design Location & Type

Hybrid (On-Site / Remote) – Halifax, NS Employment Type: Permanent Salary: $85,000 – $106,000 CAD annually Responsibilities

Apply technical leadership and expertise to provide advice and guidance to other professionals within the project/team. Prioritise team activities using the programme delivery plan, ensuring schedule and cost-effective work aligns with quality expectations. Deploy high expertise in engineering toolsets, including CAD and information management tools, to deliver complex design activities through to completion. Escalate complex design issues appropriately and advise Detail Design Management on proposed technical resolutions that may impact programme delivery. Check, assure, and sign off on engineering deliverables and outputs against standards, rules, and regulatory requirements. Work within mandated design constraints such as design rules and acceptance requirements, managing non‑adherence through the correct process. Contribute to technical governance in line with the Quality Management process by checking all engineering outputs (including BOM) and delegating associated tasks as needed. Assist the customer through the approval process as the compartment or system owner for spatial design. Required Skills

Completion of vocational training (Apprenticeship, Vocational Qualifications) or equivalent experience. Considerable experience in an engineering or technical role. Experience on large‑scale engineering projects. Specialist technical knowledge and broad experience of processes, data systems, and the business environment. Competence in processes, procedures, and standards related to detail design. Ability to interpret and communicate technical instructions. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
