Your expertise will support business objectives while safeguarding the company’s interests. SMS Equipment seeks a business-focused Senior Legal Counsel for its Acheson, AB location. This role involves collaborative legal guidance for contracts, governance, and regulatory compliance. You will partner with internal teams to navigate legal risks and enhance operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on corporate and operational matters
- Draft and negotiate vendor and service contracts
- Identify legal risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with laws and internal regulations
- Assist in dispute resolution and manage external counsel
- Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)
- Alberta Law Society membership in good standing
- 7+ years in corporate and commercial law
- Experience with complex commercial agreements
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
