Maintenance Team Lead

BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BIOVECTRA Inc. has an opening for Maintenance Team Lead. This is a permanent, full-time position located in Charlottetown, PEI.

The candidate will be responsible for:

• Triaging the workload for the shift and assigning tasks to maintenance personnel daily.
• Developing and implementing timelines to achieve targets. Ensuring staff are completing assigned work to quality and efficiency standards.
• Motivating the team to achieve organizational goals.
• Conducting training of team members to maximize their potential.
• Issuing work orders.
• Acting as point of contact for the maintenance department while on shift.
• Generating daily or weekly reports as required.
• Installing process equipment (electrical/mechanical /instrumentation/plumbing).
• Relocating of equipment through assembly and dismantle procedures.
• Performing diagnostics and repairs on process and research equipment.
• Analytical troubleshooting to detect irregularities in equipment.
• Providing quick and innovative solutions to equipment and process malfunctions.
• Utilizing knowledge and skill to recognize opportunities for improvement and savings.
• Providing corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance on research and industrial equipment in a lab and /or production environment.
• Updating maintenance records in CMMS/source information from CMMS and other information system throughout the facility.
• Completing equipment repair histories and spare parts consolidation.

The successful candidate for this position should have:

• Post-Secondary education with a Diploma from Mechanical or Electrical trade program or engineering technician program.
• Three years' maintenance experience in a regulated production facility.
• Knowledge of Standard Operating/Work Procedures as part of the principles of Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as a team player with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Driven and continually demonstrates initiative.
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Starting hourly rate is based on experience: $29
