Director of Accounting at OEG Sports

Elevate financial management as the Director of Accounting with OEG Sports & Entertainment. Lead accounting processes for premier sports teams in Edmonton while driving accuracy and efficiency. This role reports directly to the Vice President, Accounting and focuses on overseeing full cycle accounting for the Edmonton Oilers and other OEG entities. You will manage monthly closings, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with IFRS standards, creating impactful financial insights. Additionally, you'll lead, train, and mentor the accounting team to enhance overall performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely monthly and quarterly accounting close procedures
- Prepare and review financial statements for internal stakeholders
- Maintain day-to-day accounting processes and reconciliations
- Lead team training and development initiatives
- Collaborate with finance departments for consolidated reporting
- CPA designation required
- Minimum eight years of accounting experience
- Three to five years in a management role
- Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and Office Suite
