Financial Accountant I

Our software can run all aspects of an automotive dealership with sales, service, inventory management, and accounting modules. The Role: PBS is looking to hire a Financial Accountant that will be an integral part of our growing team. The Financial Accountant will be an expert in analyzing and preparing financial documents and reports. This role is responsible for working closely with the Business line to ensure financial statements accuracy, including both the Income Statement and Balance Sheet. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, be able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment and show strong leadership skills. This position is based in our Calgary Head Office and is NOT a remote or Hybrid opportunity. Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares monthly Balance Sheet and Income Statement account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
• Supports in preparing financial reports for leadership team, including monthly budget and analyzing financial information.
• Reconciles monthly customer and software inventory accounts
• Reconciles in-house asset accounts
• Documents financial transactions by entering account information, and reconciles financial discrepancies, as required
• Maintains financial security by following and advising on internal controls
• Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
• Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education, ideally obtaining a degree in Accounting or Finance
• Working towards a Professional Accounting Designation
• Self-directed with the ability to show initiative and take responsibility
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook); intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel is required
• Excellent client service skills and ability to handle high volumes and multiple priorities in a professional, courteous manner while meeting strict deadlines
• Positive and professional work ethics, which include: Collaboration, Accountability, Respect and Excellence
• Ability to work alone or with a team
• Strong written and verbal communication
