ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER

Full-Time | $25–$27/hour

La Chingada Mexican Street Food is looking for an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our management team.

We believe great hospitality comes from strong leadership, teamwork, and creating an environment where both guests and employees enjoy being. We’re looking for a hands-on manager who takes ownership of the restaurant, leads by example, and understands what it takes to run a busy service.

Working directly alongside our General Manager, you will help oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, support and develop our team, maintain our service standards, and help ensure the restaurant operates efficiently.

This is a hands-on management position. We are looking for someone who is comfortable being on the floor, making decisions, and taking responsibility for the restaurant when the General Manager is not present.

YOU ARE:

• An experienced restaurant or hospitality manager with strong leadership skills
• A hands-on leader who leads by example and supports the team during service
• Organized, reliable, and accountable
• Comfortable making decisions and solving problems independently
• Passionate about hospitality, food, and customer service
• Able to train, coach, and motivate employees
• Comfortable managing a busy, fast-paced restaurant environment
• Focused on maintaining high standards while controlling costs and labour
• A strong communicator who can work effectively with both FOH and BOH teams
• Smart Serve certified or willing to obtain certification

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Work directly with the General Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations
• Lead and supervise the FOH team during service
• Run the restaurant and make operational decisions when the General Manager is not present
• Maintain high standards of hospitality and guest experience
• Handle guest concerns and resolve issues professionally
• Train, coach, and develop team members
• Manage opening and closing procedures
• Coordinate staff sections, breaks, and shift responsibilities

Assist with scheduling and labour management
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering
• Complete cash-outs and end-of-day procedures
• Maintain restaurant cleanliness, organization, and operating standards
• Coordinate effectively between FOH, BOH, and management
• Help identify operational issues and opportunities to improve efficiency and service

AVAILABILITY:

Applicants must have full-time availability and be willing to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, opening shifts, and closing shifts.

COMPENSATION:

$25–$27 per hour, based on experience.

We’re looking for someone who wants more than just a manager title. We want someone who takes ownership, supports the team, and can become a trusted second-in-command to our General Manager.
