Senior Planning Engineer for Distribution Systems

Drive impactful planning studies as a Senior Planning Engineer in the Distribution Engineering Department. You'll ensure the optimal operational capacity of distribution systems and substations through rigorous analysis and strategic recommendations. In this senior role, you'll initiate and perform planning studies focused on substations and distribution feeders. Your responsibilities include technical report preparation, economic feasibility analysis, and consultation with customer services regarding major load additions. Collaborate with the Asset Lifecycle Management Department to address infrastructure needs while providing presentation-ready technical documents. Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate planning studies for distribution substations and feeders
- Prepare comprehensive engineering reports and proposals
- Consult with customer service on load additions
- Prepare Capital Budget diagrams for improvements
- Train and mentor junior engineers and students
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years’ experience
- Professional designation with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems and safety standards
- Familiarity with power system study applications
- Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's Licence
