YMCA of Southwestern Ontario was founded in 1856 and has over 200 locations from Goderich to Point Pelee, and Windsor to Woodstock. We are one of the largest not-for-profit providers of licensed child care in Canada and have over 100 school age programs across our regions. We also offer settlement services to newcomers, employment programs, and youth programs. YMCA of Southwestern Ontario operates one overnight camp on Beausoleil Island in Muskoka, YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth. We also have 13 Health & Fitness branches across Southwestern Ontario.

Position: Early ON Facilitator - RECE

Terms: 1 year contract - casual/supply

Location: Family Centre Carling-Thames (335 Belfield Street)

Start Date: June 29, 2026

Compensation: Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators:

$22.00 per hour (includes all government wage enhancements)

• Maintain accurate records, files and forms as required by the Ministry of Education and the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario.
• Liaise with parents, school principal and school staff, as well as community contacts in a professional manner.
• Utilize age-appropriate child coaching, mentoring techniques in all interactions with families.
• Strong knowledge of "How Does Learning Happen? Ontario's Pedagogy for Early Years"
• Follow the Public Health, Sanitization and disinfection procedures, Emergency and Fire Regulations/Requirements.
• Promote community events, programs, and services.
• Perform administrative duties and participate in professional development opportunities.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds (children and/or activity equipment)
• Ensure own performance follows the policies and procedures of the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario, including Health and Safety, Child Protection and Risk Management
• Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators, Ontario (CECE), in good standing (new graduates require proof of application in process for membership)
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification or include the date of training scheduled within the next three months. Training cost and time is at the expense of the applicant and not reimbursed
• Applicants are required to be a minimum of 18 years of age or older to acquire a current Vulnerable Criminal Reference Check (less than 6 months old)
• Safe food handling certificate an asset
• Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle an asset
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• Must be available for a minimum of 2 shifts per week
• Shifts are assigned according to availability and needs of the family center
• Monday through Friday (but may include shifts during the day or early evenings or weekends)
