Senior Mechanical Engineer, Mining & Metals

Your future role on our team

To develop new or existing clients through the successful project execution in North East Ontario based out of Timmins. You’ll work in collaboration with our multidisciplinary offices: Sudbury-Toronto-Rouyn. You will be part of a team of professionals committed to serving industrial clients, working on both OpEx and CapEx projects. We offer a stimulating and friendly environment where you’ll be given mandates that will push you to excel, both at the office and on site.

BBA is growing and looking for a seasoned mechanical engineer with strong industrial knowledge, preferably in mining (material handling, pumping & piping, etc.). If you are passionate about helping clients (seller-doer), we are interested in talking to you. We expect you to have a strong background in design and project delivery. Our team is supportive and provides a pool of resources to meet the requirements for your projects. You will also have the opportunity to work on a range of projects, collaborate with other BBA offices, and benefit from the support of our various expert groups.

• Lead mechanical scope(s) for conceptual design studies, pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies and detailed engineering
• Meet, define client problems, prepare proposals and execute engineering as required. Project management skills are an asset.
• Be a key team member for small to major brownfield and greenfield mining projects
• Lead site visits, inspections, discovery, commissioning and testing. Provide mentorship and coaching of junior and intermediate engineers, actively sharing knowledge and helping team members improve their skills

Summary of certifications and job requirements

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Professional engineer license in Ontario
• At least 10 years of relevant experience
• Industrial Experience in mechanical engineering in the energy or mining sectors
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or SmartPlant applications
