Senior Civil Project Manager

Hays Civil construction division in Ontario, is partnered with our client as they continue to grow, to hire an experienced Senior Civil Project Manager in Northern Ontario, in Timmins or Sudbury.

The business is a rapidly growing and leading GC, who deliver complex and large scale design/ build infrastructure projects across Canada. Due to continued growth and progression planning, the business is excited to expand their team, hiring a Senior Civil Project Manager to join the team.

Your new role As the Senior Civil Project Manager, reporting to the Director, Operations, you will oversee multiple heavy civil construction projects from planning through execution, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to required quality and safety standards. You will lead project teams, manage stakeholders, mitigate risk, and ensure full regulatory and health and safety compliance while supporting team development. Day-to-day responsibilities include: managing and overseeing multiple heavy civil construction projects from start to finish; developing project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans; securing necessary permits and approvals; assessing risks and developing mitigation strategies; understand estimated costs; help manage project budgets and ensure projects stay within budget; ensure projects are completed on time and to required quality standards; monitor project performance and identify areas for improvement; Lead project teams and ensure effective communication with stakeholders; Mentor project coordinators and junior-level staff to support development; Assign roles and responsibilities to junior-level staff; Coordinate and liaise with external stakeholders (clients, subcontractors, vendors, government agencies); Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to project plans; Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations; Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support company objectives.

What you’ll need to Succeed

To succeed as the Senior Civil Project Manager, you will bring 5+ years of experience in project management in the road building and construction industry (MTO project experience is required to succeed in this role); Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously; Strong leadership and team management skills; Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices; Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment; Outcome focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyze and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business; Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives; Strong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities; Demonstrate versatility and resourcefulness in overcoming business challenges.

What you’ll get in Return

As the Senior Civil Project Manager, you will earn a base salary of $115,000 - $165,000 per year. The actual base salary will depend on several factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations; annual performance-based bonus; Comprehensive group benefits program; retirement savings program; career growth and advancement opportunities.
