Production Support Engineer (Contract)

Job Responsibility:

BIMM is booming, so we're looking for an experienced Production Support Engineer (on contract until December 20, 2024 with potential to extend to permanent) to join our team!

Our Technology department is a 30+ person distributed team of Developers, QA, and Architects delivering amazing digital products on a leading-edge technology stack.

Who we're looking for

You have used modern tools and frameworks (React.js and Node.js) and could code up an application from scratch and spin up a cloud infrastructure to host it. You have a clear understanding of security and build it into any of your services. Although you have the full support of your team mates, you are able to lead the research and solution of complex problems. At the same time, you know when to ask for help and don't let silly pride or ego get in the way, because after all, you are part of a team.

"Initiative" is your middle name and you don't give us a chance to chase you. We are on the hunt for people who have an innovative mindset (you still dream of that moonshot project, but are currently working on your side-gig)! Is this you?

This is a support role. You will be triaging, solutioning and mitigating issues as they arise 90% of your time, with 10% of your time hands on keyboard.

Requirements

• 5+ year experience in Full stack role
• 3 -5 years of working knowledge with modern frameworks and languages (React.js preferably)
• Strong HTML, CSS, Javascript, Typescript skills
• 2-3 years of working knowledge on backend (NodeJS & GraphQL preferred)
• Exceptional troubleshooting, triaging and testing skills on Front End (Devices, Browsers) as well integrations testing (postman, curl), and conducting root cause analysis
• Comfortable in the command line (e.g. Linux, Windows, or Mac)
• Experienced with AWS, GCP Cloud log management systems
• Able to work collaboratively across multiple development teams to resolve issues, communicate with lines of business and management on the overall status and health of application
• Be the first point of contact for production issues, support request and alerts
• You can demonstrate experience from at least one large scale project
• Able to rapidly pick up new concepts and technologies

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Testing Automation suites like Cypress
• Previous role in technical production support role
• Knowledgeable in accessibility compliance
• Experience with GraphQL and Apollo
• Experience with NextJS or NuxtJS
• Familiar with SSR applications and their requirements
• Experience with Styled Components
• Experience with MongoDB or other databases
