Full-Time General Counsellor Position

COSTI is seeking a full-time General Counsellor dedicated to supporting chronically homeless and newly arrived individuals. Work 35 hours weekly, offering crisis intervention, case management, and settlement services. In this role, you will conduct initial assessments and provide counselling for clients from diverse backgrounds. You’ll develop personalized case plans, advocate for client needs, and deliver essential orientation sessions. A crucial aspect is to document client interactions and connect them with community resources tailored to their situation. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial intake and needs assessments for clients
- Provide supportive counselling and crisis intervention services
- Develop case plans with individual clients for successful outcomes
- Deliver orientation on rules and settlement topics
- Refer clients to additional support services
- Social Services Worker diploma or equivalent
- Minimum twelve months of counselling and case management experience
- Proficient in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Ability to manage cases for 50-100 clients
- Valid certifications in First Aid/CPR and Naloxone
