Crown Land Analyst

Location: Remote – Alberta

The Opportunity - You will bring extensive Alberta Crown land experience and a proven ability to manage complex surface land projects from application through completion. As a senior member of the team, you will provide technical leadership, mentor analysts, and help ensure the successful delivery of Crown and Freehold projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance.

This position is ideal for a senior land professional who enjoys remaining actively involved in project execution while taking on greater responsibility for mentoring, quality assurance, and technical leadership within a growing organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and complete complex Alberta Crown land projects, including Crown applications, OneStop submissions, amendments, assignments, dispositions, and maintenance obligations.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance regarding Crown land requirements, regulatory compliance, and project execution.
• Mentor and support junior and intermediate analysts in Crown land administration and project delivery.
• Collaborate with the team to complete acquisitions of Surface Rights on Crown and Freehold lands.
• Initiate First Nations Consultation and engage Community & Indigenous Affairs advisor
• Analyze and interpret land documentation such as leases, agreements and survey plans
• Prepare and assess land acquisition packages, ensuring all regulatory requirements have been met
• Process all incoming third-party agreements
• Register and discharge instruments and encumbrances on title
• Administer requirements for public consultation and notification
• Input and maintain file information into Pandell
• Collaborate with responsible teams to revise files and systems for operational changes, acquisitions, and swaps
• Develop and maintain strong relations with stakeholders
• Ensure all maintenance and obligations for Freehold and Crown are completed, including lease renewals, final plan requirements, and submissions regarding no entry
• Create and analyze reports from various systems pertaining to rights of way, leases, etc.
• Gather and analyze data for contract obligation reports and lease obligations reports

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing Alberta Crown land projects is required
• Demonstrated expertise preparing, submitting, and maintaining Crown applications through OneStop and related regulatory systems is essential.
• Experience with Freehold land acquisition and administration is considered a strong asset.
• Post-secondary education in Surface Land Administration, Business or a similar related field is required.
• Commissioner of Oath is an asset or ability to obtain.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Abadata, Microsoft Office, OneStop, AMS, IRIS, ISC & SPIN II
• Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• QA/QC expertise

• Experience with or willingness to earn AI tools
