Sr. Sales Systems Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Sales Systems Engineer based in Canada. As a Senior Sales Systems Engineer, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to strategic enterprise customers, partnering closely with Account Executives to shape and execute technical sales strategies. You will own the technical side of complex opportunities, from discovery and architecture design through demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, validation, and close. The role focuses on helping customers address challenges across data resilience, cyber recovery, cloud transformation, and modern infrastructure. You will engage with architects, infrastructure and security leaders, technical decision-makers, and executive stakeholders. Success requires a combination of deep technical expertise, commercial awareness, strong communication, and executive presence. You will also collaborate with sales teams, specialists, partners, and technology alliances to develop secure, scalable, and resilient solutions for complex enterprise environments. \n Accountabilities: - Develop technical account strategies: Partner with Enterprise Account Executives to define and execute technical strategies across assigned strategic and named enterprise accounts. - Lead complex pre-sales engagements: Own the technical sales cycle from discovery and solution design through demonstrations, workshops, proof-of-concepts, technical validation, and technical close. - Build trusted customer relationships: Establish strong relationships with customer architects, infrastructure and security leaders, technical decision-makers, and executive stakeholders.

- Design resilient architectures: Translate customer business priorities, technical requirements, and risk considerations into secure and scalable solution architectures across hybrid, multi-cloud, SaaS, and enterprise infrastructure environments. - Deliver technical presentations: Conduct compelling demonstrations, workshops, presentations, and executive-level discussions that connect technical capabilities with measurable customer outcomes. - Lead proof-of-concepts: Design and manage POCs with clearly defined success criteria, ensuring technical evaluations remain aligned with customer requirements and progress toward a purchasing decision. - Coordinate cross-functional technical strategies: Collaborate with sales teams, specialist groups, channel partners, and technology alliances to develop cohesive strategies for strategic opportunities. - Identify technical and competitive risks: Surface architectural requirements, technical challenges, competitive considerations, and potential risks early in the sales process, developing appropriate mitigation strategies. - Expand strategic relationships: Support growth within existing enterprise customers while contributing to the pursuit and development of new strategic accounts. - Represent the organization externally: Participate in customer briefings, executive meetings, industry events, and other field activities as required. Requirements: - Professional experience: At least 10 years of experience in pre-sales engineering, systems engineering, solutions engineering, solution architecture, or a comparable customer-facing technical role. - Enterprise sales expertise: Demonstrated experience supporting large, complex enterprise or named accounts and navigating multi-stakeholder technical sales cycles. - End-to-end technical selling: Proven ability to lead discovery, solution architecture, technical demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, validation, and technical closure. - Enterprise infrastructure knowledge: Strong technical foundation across data resilience and protection, virtualization, cloud services, storage, networking, security, and modern enterprise infrastructure.
