Bartender (Distillery Cocktail Lounge)

Copperpenny Distilling Co. is on the hunt for creative and experienced cocktail bartenders to join our friendly front-of-house team. A successful candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in high volume, cocktail-focused bartending, be passionate about product education, and excited to share our world class spirits through expertly crafted cocktails.

You’ll be led by an experienced management group alongside a crew of passionate team members – we treat our lounge like our living room. And patio. And bar. And garage. And après hangout. You get it. Private VIP speakeasy rooms and a large event venue for bigger crowds up to 100 people – there is never a shortage of activity, and we’d love you to be a part of it as we continue to grow.

Responsibilities:

• Execute top shelf cocktails with uncompromising consistency and presentation
• Serve guests at the bar while crafting drinks in a high-volume environment in a timely manner
• Daily cleaning and maintenance of the bar and prep areas
• Preparing batch recipes, juicing and other work related to bar operations
• Assist in new menu item creation and initiatives to promote lounge sales
• Deliver memorable experiences with guests to promote the Copperpenny portfolio of spirits; encourage retail purchases of spirit bottles, merchandise and activities
• Work in multiple environments including main bar, speakeasy, in-house events, festivals, and external events
• Cross-train on all FOH positions; opportunity for distillery production tasks when available

Requirements:

• Must be able to work weekends and evenings
• Must possess current BC Serving it Right certification
• A passion for the spirits industry, cocktail culture and exemplary customer service and guest experience
• Willingness to learn and follow company procedure; be a team player
• Must be detail-oriented and have demonstrated ability to multitask
• Must capable of lifting light loads (liquor cases, etc.)
• Minimum two years’ cocktail bartending experience and/or demonstrated proficiency
• Class 5 driver’s license optional, but helpful (for festivals, events and external bartending gigs)
