About Us
We are excited to launch a brand-new Italian culinary concept in the heart of Vancouver's Dunbar neighborhood this October 1st! We focus on authentic Italian flavors, fresh hand-crafted pasta, locally sourced ingredients, and warm hospitality in an inviting neighborhood setting.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and detail-oriented Sous Chef to join our opening team. Working closely with the Chef de Cuisine / Executive Chef, you will play a central role in setting up kitchen operations, managing daily prep and line execution, leading line cooks, and maintaining consistent, high-quality standards from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily kitchen operations, prep work, and line management during service.
Maintain strict standards for food quality, plate presentation, recipe execution, and consistency.
Oversee inventory management, ordering, waste reduction, and food cost controls.
Train, mentor, and motivate line cooks and kitchen staff to foster a positive, productive team environment.
Enforce rigorous food safety, sanitation, and kitchen hygiene standards (Food Safe Level 1 required).
Assist in menu development, seasonal specials, and daily prep planning.
Qualifications & Requirements
2+ years of culinary management experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Line Cook in high-volume or upscale casual restaurants (Italian cuisine experience preferred).
Strong foundation in Italian techniques (pasta making, wood-fired cooking, or butchery is a strong plus).
Proven leadership abilities with a collaborative, hands-on management style.
Valid Food Safe Level 1 certificate.
Full availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, as well as pre-opening setup leading up to October 1st.
