Junior Cloud Bookkeeper

This is a fully remote cloud based position and only for applicants living in the Greater Vancouver Lower Mainland area.

Currently we are only accepting applicants with full Canada working clearance (sorry, no student visas or temporary workers).

We're looking for a Junior Part-Time to Full-Time Bookkeeper that is starting out in their career towards helping other with their finances and accounting. You are a detailed oriented superstar and a quick pragmatic dynamo that can meet tight deadlines. Known to be reliable, you're a quick learner and able to work independently. You are starting to gain accounting experience and are eager to learn from a great team. You are entrepreneurial and enjoy working in a dynamic environment (wearing multiple hats). Lastly, you are looking to grow professionally through a Certified Professional Bookkeepers (CPB) or Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

WHAT WOULD I BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

• Perform account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Conduct regular account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Prepare and process payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Assist with the preparation of tax returns and other financial documents.
• Drafting government Sales Tax Reports as required
• Ensuring adherence to strong accounting and finance processes, systems, and control
• Troubleshooting accounting systems and processes
• Assisting with client onboarding and general support throughout client lifecycle
• Maintaining and safeguarding client documentation and files
• Other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS

• Ideally up to 2 years of experience with full-cycle accounting or bookkeeping
• Canadian personal and corporate tax exposure
• Strong knowledge of account reconciliation, account analysis, bank reconciliations, processing payroll and managing accounts payable/receivable
• At minimum a college diploma or degree preferably with an accounting concentration
• Strong systems and computer experience with QuickBooks/XERO, MS Word, Excel and a cloud suite like Office 365/Google Suite
• Methodical mindset with ability to solve dynamic problems
• Superior attention to detail with an analytical mindset to autonomously prioritize tasks
• Highly organized and process oriented
• Strong communication skills
• Nice to Have: Familiarity with Canadian income tax laws and regulations is an asset, but not a requirement.

REMOTE WORK ARRANGEMENT

Must be physically located and can work in Canada.

Yay! You get to work from home as we are an entirely remote firm! You are expected to have the appropriate arrangements (internet, workspace, etc.) to focus on work at home. Occasionally, you may visit a client or co-work with our team. We'll provide you the equipment and training to ensure you succeed in your role.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 37.5 per week
