Senior Counsel for Cards & Loyalty

Shape legal strategy for the Cards & Loyalty team as a Senior Counsel. Provide targeted legal advice on complex regulatory matters and collaborate with various enterprise teams. In this role, you will leverage over seven years of experience to deliver strategic legal advice on credit cards and loyalty programs. You will oversee product development, negotiate merchant agreements, and manage client-facing materials. Your expertise will support legal advocacy while providing guidance on emerging regulatory developments. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver strategic legal advice on card and loyalty matters
- Oversee legal input for product development and enhancements
- Negotiate agreements for the RBC Avion Rewards Program
- Direct legal strategy for the merchant offers program
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments proactively
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in law or finance
- Juris Doctor Degree from a recognized law school
- Membership in a provincial law society
- Strong business acumen in legal risk analysis
- Experience in drafting contracts and consumer protection
