  • Business Development Manager Department: Operations Reports to: Director of Operations

Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Business Development Manager isaccountable for leading and supporting franchisees. The Business DevelopmentManager has three primary functions:1. Business Partner3. Improve Market Sales PerformanceAll key accountabilities derive from these three functions as listed below.
Brand Protector The Business Development Manager is responsible for the protection of the Brand. TheBusiness Development Manager must ensure that the franchisees are executingconsistently the standards that are required to create a positive experience for thecustomers in the areas of Product Quality, Customer Service, Merchandizing & Imageand Store Cleanliness.Every store must be visited once per quarter to complete an Operational StoreAudit (Ops Report). The Business Development Manager is expected to take a “hands on” approachto improving overall store performance.The Business Development Manager is expected to provide, at a minimum, onemonth rolling schedule in the Outlook Calendar. It should reflect an equaldistribution of time within their market that addresses overall store performance.The Business Development Manager is expected to understand the operationduring all day parts and the schedule must reflect visits in all day parts.The Business Development Manager contributes in the development of trainingmaterials and operational guides.
Business Partner The Business Development Manager is a key point of contact to the franchisee. They'reexpected to develop a mutual partnership through communication with the franchiseeswithin their respective markets with the objective of improving the business in the areasof financial analysis (food cost, labor cost and store profitability), business planning(SWOT), coaching for peak performance (management/staff), daily franchise andbusiness issues, and support the development and execution of training materials.Sales Growth and Customer Count1. The Business Development Manager will be required to prepare realistic budgetson store performance.The Business Development Manager is required to be knowledgeable aboutinternal and external factors that impact sales in each location including analysisand action plans to improve performance.The Business Development Manager is accountable for every store in theirmarket being ready and prepared for new product(s), program launch andmarketing campaigns including local marketing activities.The Business Development Manager is accountable for the training and effectiveexecution including, but not limited to, detailed analysis of all programs beingexecuted by the corporate office.Store Openings and Re-SalesEffective execution of store openings and re-sales are critical to the success of newfranchisees entering the Brand's system. The Business Development Manager will spend a defined amount of designatedtime in store for Store Openings and Re-Sales to ensure that the new franchiseeis set up for success providing a training plan and operation directions.The Business Development Manager will execute the Store Turnover and NewOpening Store checklist with the franchisee to ensure all business practices aremet and all required reports and certifications are complete.Business Meetings, Operations Meetings & Regional MeetingsThe Business Development Manager is expected to attend all meetings and conferencecalls as identified above to share best practices, support the team, discuss and findresolutions to business challenges as well as to contribute to business objectives andstrategic direction for the organization.Detail Oriented, Strong Organizational skills, conflict management and

negotiating skills and Time Planning skills.
~ Exceptional People management skills with the ability to train and coach

Have an OVERWHELMING sense for Exceptional Customer Service
Proficient in MS Office.
Bilingualism is preferred (required for Quebec market).
Post-Secondary education in business or related field or an equivalent

Experience in multi-unit food service management
Experience in managing budgets, forecasting and strategic planning in a retail
Valid Passport and driver's license. The ability to drive a car, as travel is required

managing and coaching franchisees for peak performance.
There is a frequent requirement for travel.
