Position and Responsibilities
As a key member of Cameco’s Projects & Construction team, you will oversee contractor execution during the construction phase of projects supporting the Port Hope Conversion Facility. You will help implement Cameco’s construction management processes and ensure all work is performed safely, compliantly, and efficiently within an operating, highly regulated industrial environment.
A strong mechanical & electrical trades background (e.g., millwright/industrial mechanic, pipefitter, industrial electrician) is a major asset, supporting your ability to review installations, troubleshoot field issues, and contribute to safe execution of work involving process equipment, piping systems, utilities, and structural modifications.

Your responsibilities include monitoring contractors for compliance with the Canada Labour Code, Ontario Construction Regulations, and Cameco’s Radiation Protection, Environmental, Quality, and Security programs. You’ll support cost and schedule performance by ensuring work aligns with contract requirements, engineering packages, drawings, and Cameco standards. You will also coordinate construction interfaces with operations, engineering, maintenance, and site support teams, ensuring accurate documentation, redlines, and as‑built information for turnover and commissioning.

Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:

Diploma in engineering technology or a valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification in mechanical/electrical trade (e.g., millwright, pipefitter, industrial mechanic, industrial electrician).
Three to five years of experience managing contractors on industrial projects.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to reinforce Cameco’s safety culture and influence contractor behaviors in high‑hazard, regulated environments.
Applied knowledge of construction best practices in operating plants, including isolation/LOTO, hot work, confined space entry, radiological considerations, and hazardous materials controls.
Experience commissioning and troubleshooting mechanical process systems, plant utilities, and HVAC, as well as supporting civil and structural modifications within industrial settings.
Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary Cameco teams.
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to obtain a clear background check and meet Cameco security and site‑access requirements.

Assets:

Knowledge of SAP for work management, procurement, and cost tracking.
Experience working in licensed nuclear facilities or environments with radiation protection programs.
