Weekend Operations Supervisor
Urban Post Production
The Picture Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the picture department within a post-production facility. This role ensures efficient workflow management, resource allocation, and delivery of high-quality visual content across all projects. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of post-production processes with leadership and organizational skills to support editors, colourists, and clients. Key Responsibilities
Manage daily operations of the picture department, including editing, conform, colour grading, finishing, and deliveries
Oversee project scheduling, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are consistently met
Coordinate resources, including staff, freelance talent with project managers, the VP Operations and Director of Post-Production Technology
Collaborate with producers, clients, and creative teams to define project scope and deliverables
Implement and maintain standardized workflows, best practices, and quality control procedures
Monitor project progress and proactively resolve bottlenecks or technical issues
Supervise and mentor editors, assistants, and technical staff
Stay current with emerging technologies, software, and industry trends in post-production
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in post-production, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
- Understanding of editing, colour grading, finishing, and delivery workflows
- Familiar with industry-standard software (e.g., Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve)
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Preferred Skills
Experience working in film, television, advertising, or streaming content production
Knowledge of 4k feature workflows, HDR, Dolby Vision, and broadcast delivery specifications
Understanding of VFX pipelines and integration with picture workflows
