Flames Community Arenas are currently hiring for the Activity Coordinator position.
The Activity Coordinator is a permanent, full time position based on a 35 hours per week schedule Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm with overtime as required.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Activity Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day activity of facility scheduling, bookings, and programs in accordance with operating policies and procedures.
The Activity Coordinator is responsible for the development of program and event budgets, and for achieving related budget objectives.
Work closely with the other staff to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the facility.
Increase quality and participation of current programs and identify and implement new programs and events that are consistent with the SWAS mission and values.
Assist with the development and implementation of FCA’s marketing strategy and specific marketing activities related to services, programs, and events.
Develop and maintain FCA communication vehicles including FCA Website, Digital Displays, and other mediums as required.
Conduct public relations and communications with the general membership and external community.
Attend bi-annual Liaison Committee meetings, record and distribute minutes, and liaise with the committee members on ice and facility related affairs.
Limited evening and weekend work may be required.
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Sport or Recreation Administration, or other related fields.
Previous experience in Sport or Recreation administration.
Proven record of strong customer service skills.
Working knowledge of IT devices, and computer software including MS Office, Publisher, Webpage maintenance, and facility/program scheduling.
Competitive salary with opportunity for performance bonus. Performance-based increases: regular review to evaluate performance and set salary goals.
Paid vacation: starting at 3 weeks per year, increasing with seniority.
Designated paid holidays, in addition to vacation time.
Flexible scheduling: regular hours are on-site Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
