Senior Underwriter - Remote

The Group Reinsurance Solutions Team is responsible for developing creative, custom-tailored reinsurance solutions for Group benefits in the Canadian and Caribbean market and collaborating with our clients to help manage profitably and grow their business.
The successful candidate will be working closely with members of the team and other key individuals from the Toronto and Montreal offices to support the underwriting needs of our clients and help execute the objectives and strategies of the Group Reinsurance Solutions team through their extensive knowledge in underwriting of group insurance
Responds to client’s requests that are entrusted to him/her with respect to quotes and renewals of group insurance contracts.
Addresses needs of clients in a timely, proactive and professional manner, advising senior management of any business issues impacting Munich Re and/or the client, makes recommendations and takes action to resolve concerns.
Draft treaties and amendments.
Prepare quote proposals, provide required analysis and develop recommendations and solutions that maximize growth and profitability.
Provide knowledge and support to other team members including actuarial, medical underwriting, claims and senior management, assisting them in managing the client relationships.
Develop and maintain Group underwriting tools and methodologies, manuals and guidelines, market databases and comparative reports.
Support with the research, development, and implementation new products, benefits, features and distribution strategies.
Maintains a high profile within the underwriting community and develop network of contacts to gain market intelligence, promote the expertise of the company and influence practices and procedures within the industry.

7+ years in-depth knowledge and experience in the Canadian and/or Group Life and Health (re)insurance industry.

• Fluency in English required; French is an asset.
• able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver accurate, high-quality results.

Our base salary range for this role is between $101,000 and $130,000 per year , plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to internal equity.
