The Junior Buyer is responsible for performing procurement activities to ensure the timely purchase of materials and equipment to meet project requirements. Working within a project team environment, potentially on multiple projects

Ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement while adhering to client requirements and proper procurement practices

Updating purchasing and expediting milestone dates in the procurement software

Preparing, issuing and evaluating standard procurement documents including bid lists, request for quotation and commercial bid evaluations

Purchasing electrical, instrumentation and piping commodity materials and equipment

Creating and issuing purchase orders for materials

Developing and managing vendor/contractor relationships

Closing purchase orders

Communicating with suppliers to resolve issues affecting a purchase order

Attending status meetings with suppliers

Reviewing material and service invoices for accuracy

Coordinating transportation and logistics, as required
