Assistant Controller 14 Month Contract- Potential for extension or perm
40-$45 Hourly
The main focus of this position will be to prepare monthly consolidations for the Canadian Golf Operations and otherwise aid in the production of the public company financial statements.
o Act as liaison for accounting of certain investments along with the consolidation of their results, including consolidation entries as necessary.
- As part of the monthly consolidation, this position will produce a monthly reporting package for the Canadian golf segment providing analysis of all major line items in the financial statements. This would also include an analysis of actual to budget variances.and various other informative financial analyses.
- Review and reconciliation of certain accounts as part of the consolidation process:
o Review of the AR and AP subledger reconciliations to the general ledger
o Review of AP accounts for validity and accuracy
o Review of AR accounts for validity and aging
o Review of corporate prepaids
Strong working knowledge of Excel, Dynamics Solomon (general ledger package), FRX, Word
- Fulfillment of a designated accounting program – preferably with exposure to International Accounting Standards (IFRS)
- CPA designation in progress or fully completed (CA, CMA, CGA, or equivalent).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting practices.
- Strong proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
