Instrumentation Engineering Technician

Instrumentation Technician – Heavy Industrial / Bulk Equipment
We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to support installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation systems within heavy industrial environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with bulk material handling equipment and process systems in sectors such as mining, cement, forestry, or similar.
Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and control systems
Troubleshoot and repair sensors, transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and related equipment
Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on instrumentation systems
Interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical drawings
Support commissioning, start-up, and system optimization activities
Work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
5+ years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician in a heavy industrial environment
- Must hold a valid Class C license (or provincial equivalent)
- Journeyperson Instrumentation and Control Technician Red Seal certification or equivalent Canadian journeyperson certification with Interprovincial Red Seal
- ARC Flash training/certification is considered an asset
- Experience working with heavy bulk equipment such as: Conveyors, Crushers, Pumps and slurry systems, and Material handling systems
- Experience in mining, cement, forestry, or similar heavy industrial environments is strongly preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in industrial instrumentation systems
- Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial automation is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and drawings
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
