Plans, designs, and furnishes interiors of commercial office buildings. Formulates designs that are practical, aesthetic, and conducive to intended purposes (e.g. raising employee productivity or selling financial products and services) in accordance with environmental, safety, and other regulations to minimize adverse environmental impact and maximize energy conservation (e.g. applying Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards). Develops and governs current Retail Design Guidelines used across the retail portfolio to support the vision, strategy, and operation of the Bank's physical channels (i.e. branches and ATMs) and engage customers to meet their needs. Acts as a consultant to the architectural design to translate business requirements into physical premises. Works with interior designers to design facilities, including furniture, conceptual design, look and feel, colour, and materials.

Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group.

Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.

May network with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices.

Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.

Develops the business case by identifying needs, analysing potential options, and assessing expected return on investment.

Leads / supports contract negotiations with vendors, balancing cost, risk, and performance.

Prepares scale drawings or architectural designs using computer-aided design and related tools.

Prepares information required for design, structure specifications, materials, colour, equipment, estimated costs, or construction time.

Integrates engineering elements into unified architectural designs.

Conducts periodic on-site observations of construction work to monitor compliance with plans.

Monitors the work of specialists (e.g. electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, interior designers, sound specialists) to ensure optimal form or function of designs or structures.

Plans layouts of structural architectural projects.

Performs predesign services, such as feasibility or environmental impact studies.

Inspects proposed building sites to determine suitability for construction.

Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.

Implements changes in response to shifting trends.

Typically 10+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in Electrical Engineering; Professional Engineering (P.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification optional but not required.

Thorough understanding of design industry best practices and/or innovative design to be translated into implementation.

AutoCAD, Revit, BlueBeam, Photoshop, Illustrator, email, PowerPoint).

Thorough understanding of building and related codes and accessibility guidelines.

Excellent experience with architecture and/or interior design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Thorough knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in building construction and repair.

Strong knowledge of the principles and processes for customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluating customer satisfaction.

Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
