THE OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting opportunity for a senior finance leader to join Travel Buggy as a key member of its leadership team. Reporting directly to the President, the Director of Finance will serve as the organization’s finance lead and a trusted operational partner, responsible for building systems, processes, and financial discipline required to support continued growth. This is a private equity-backed organization transitioning from an entrepreneurial foundation to a more structured and scalable operating environment. The Director of Finance will play a critical role in strengthening financial rigor, reporting, and controls while supporting strategic decision-making across the business. The role will also oversee monthly reporting to the private equity sponsor, including variance analysis, and support quarterly board reporting and reforecasting.
The business is highly scalable with a small and growing team, and the finance leader will remain hands-on while also taking on broader operational responsibilities as the organization expands.

Lead all finance and accounting functions across budgeting, forecasting, reporting, treasury and daily financial operations.
Deliver accurate, timely and reliable financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and confidence in financial information provided to leadership and private equity stakeholders.
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cadence, including board-level materials, investor updates, and performance dashboards aligned to PE value creation objectives.
Build, implement, and refine financial systems, processes, and controls to support a scaling business environment and enable PE-level financial discipline and accountability.
Drive the development and integration of business systems across CRM, accounting and inventory platforms, ensuring they support operational execution.
Support the transition from an entrepreneurial environment to a more structured, professional, and accountable operating model aligned with private equity expectations for financial governance and growth tracking.
Contribute to organizational effectiveness, including performance management, accountability structures and cross-functional alignment.
Provide oversight of administrative and compliance-related functions such as contracts, regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
CFA or equivalent considered an asset.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance, including leadership of the full finance function within a growth-oriented organization.
Proven experience in a structured, professional business environment, with exposure to private equity backed or high-performance environments considered an asset.
Demonstrated experience enhancing and optimizing core business systems, including CRM, accounting and operational platforms.
An excellent communicator who engages effectively across all levels of the organization, translating complex financial and operational concepts into clear, actionable insights while building trust with both internal teams and senior stakeholders.
Demonstrates strong business acumen, with the ability to assess team dynamics, understand operational challenges, and align efforts to improve performance.
Exhibits a high level of drive, energy, and resilience, with a clear motivation to build, improve, and scale within a performance-oriented environment.
Adapts effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment, embracing change and continuous improvement while learning from both successes and setbacks.
Understands private equity expectations, including performance tracking, growth, cash flow optimization, and the development of scalable financial and operational infrastructure.
