Job Description
Our TorontoJobs.ca Recruitment Division client, a company located in North Toronto, is looking for a Finance Manager to play a key role in shaping financial strategy and driving operational excellence. This newly created position provides a unique opportunity to lead and optimize financial processes, offer strategic insights, and guide the organization toward sustainable growth.
You will collaborate closely with senior leadership to provide financial analysis, support business decisions, and implement process improvements. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your expertise will influence both day-to-day operations and long-term strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Reporting
Drive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
Deliver financial reports and insights to support executive decision-making.
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through financial analysis.
Implement process automation to enhance reporting efficiency.
Accounting & Compliance
Oversee core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
Manage year-end processes, tax filings, and external audits.
Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives and operational improvements.
Contract Oversight & Risk Management
Manage financial aspects of company contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Track contract renewals, expirations, and financial obligations.
Ensure agreements align with business objectives.
Strategic Partnerships & Business Growth
Support financial negotiations and structure key business agreements.
Develop models to assess potential partnerships and new initiatives.
Provide financial analysis to guide market expansion and product launches.
Leadership & Technology Integration
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with business strategy.
Lead the transition from current financial systems to scalable platforms.
Leverage technology to drive process efficiencies and data-driven decision-making.
1-Year Success Criteria
Success in this role means delivering financial insights that directly contribute to improved operational efficiency, cost savings, and revenue growth. Your ability to provide strategic guidance and optimize financial processes will be key to making a measurable impact.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in financial operations, FP&A, or similar roles.
- Experience in a tech startup, SAAS would be an asset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and reporting tools.
- Deep understanding of accounting standards and compliance.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey financial insights clearly.
- Proven ability to drive process improvements and implement new technologies.
Preferred:
CPA designation (or equivalent).
Experience in technology-enabled industries (e.g., SaaS).
Exposure to advanced financial tools, AI, and data analytics.
Background in managing financial system upgrades or supporting strategic partnerships.
