Pharmacy Assistant - Temporary

Join us as a Pharmacy Assistant in Peter Lougheed Centre (PLC), where you'll support pharmacists, healthcare professionals, correctional staff, and external partners in providing essential pharmaceutical care to support safe and effective patient care. Working in a secure environment under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician, you’ll help prepare and distribute medications using automated and computerized systems. As a Pharmacy Assistant, your duties include medication preparation, repackaging, administrative and customer service tasks such as answering phones, assisting customers, and data entry. Other responsibilities include accurate stocking of medication carts, receiving Pharmacy Department orders, accurate record keeping, communicating with nursing staff, and delivery of pharmaceuticals throughout the hospital. Flexible availability of working including weekdays, evenings, and weekends is required. Additional Required Qualifications: Graduate of a recognized pharmacy assistant program and/or a minimum of 1 year hospital experience or 2 years retail experience within the last five years. Pharmaceutical deliveries will be required to all areas within the hospitals and correction sites. Flexible availability of working including weekdays, evenings, and weekends is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of the Pharmacy Drug Formulary is an asset. Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience is preferred. Minimum of 1 year of experience in inventory management. PLC experience is preferred.
