Psychosocial Rehab Assistant Location Calgary, AB : Your Opportunity: ACH Mental Health unit serves children and adolescents experiencing acute psychiatric crisis. The unit is fast paced with the opportunity to engage in therapeutic groups, miliue management supports, and care coordination with a multi-disciplinary team. The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Assistant reports the unit manager and day-to-day responsibilities are directed by the care-team.
Description:
The Psychosocial Rehab Assistant (PSRA) works with a multidisciplinary team assisting with therapeutic programming within an in-patient or day treatment Mental Health program. Under the guidance of Registered Nurses and Family Counselors, the Psychosocial Rehab Assistant also supports the implementation of individual and group program plans for children and adolescents admitted to the mental health care unit. Knowledge and understanding of child and adolescent development, and therapeutic interventions is essential to optimal patient care. This specific PSRA opportunity involves offering therapeutic support to patients who may be holding in Emergency Department or who are placed 'off service' in medical units throughout the hospital.

Required Qualifications: Completion of diploma in Social Work or Child and Youth Care or completion of Bachelor's Degree in Psychology .
Additional Required Qualifications: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with children and youth in mental health in community or acute care settings. Knowledge and application of Attachment Theory and development. Knowledge and application of Trauma Informed Care. Knowledge and application of Collaborative Problem Solving Completion of the Brain Story Certificate.
