This position is a temporary maternity leave coverage role. The Junior Underwriter under the direction of the Director of Underwriting is responsible for reviewing builder applications and renewals for suitability within the warranty program. This role evaluates technical capability financial capacity and character of builders and supports underwriting operations including Letters of Credit and aged commencements. The role works closely with internal teams through in-person phone and chat communication.
Review builder financial information (financial statements net worth credit checks lender references).
Review technical information and application documents for program suitability.
Research applicants using external sources (Internet BC Online Business Prospects).
Refer and discuss higher-risk files with the Director of Underwriting.
High school diploma (College or University degree in Business preferred)
Level 1 insurance licensing preferred
Minimum 1 year of customer service experience
Knowledge of insurance practices and regulations (asset)
