Safe Software is looking for a Python Software Developer Intern to join our Integrations development team. This is a four-month, full-time placement with opportunity for extension.

Our student internships have the opportunity to be hybrid/on-premise at our office based in Surrey, BC, Canada. In order to provide the best onboarding and mentorship experience, this position will require the intern to work on-premise at least 2 days per week at our office based in Surrey, BC, Canada. The Integrations Team works to optimize the use of open source and commercial third-party components in our desktop, server, cloud-based, and mobile applications. Some of the team's primary focus areas are to: manage our third-party component usage to protect our source code and reputation, enable legal compliance, and reduce security vulnerabilities through issue identification and remediation.

As a Python Software Developer Intern, you'll have the opportunity to:

Maintain software at scale, building scripts to automate and simplify large tasks

Obtain an insider's view into the world of software compliance and security vulnerabilities

Apply and extend your git skills in a software company with over 20 years of version control

Safe Software evaluates applicants based on their passion and skill with technology. That said, having experience with some of the following areas is an asset.

Technical skills:

Programming in Python

Experience using IDEs for software development

You're able to keep track of your projects and prioritize them

You're able to work well with minimal supervision in a remote team environment, and are motivated to learn new technologies and skills
