Posting Period: Under the general direction of the Program Manager, the Physiotherapy Assistant/Occupational Therapy Assistant (PTA/OTA) is responsible and accountable to provide person-centered care for assigned patients/clients under the direction and supervision of the regulated health professional (supervising clinician) and performs associated functions to support service delivery.
As a member of a team, the PTA/OTA participates in profession-specific and interprofessional activities that are directed towards a person-centered environment and contribute to operational efficiency and professional and program development.
Within this role, the PTA/OTA may work autonomously in a variety of settings, including the community, providing services to patients/clients and families by following the treatment plan developed and assigned by the supervising clinician. Dual Physiotherapy Assistant/Occupational Therapy Assistant certificate from a recognized Physiotherapy Assistant/Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
Minimum six months of experience in each of OT and PT settings, preferred
Follows assigned treatment plan independently for patients/clients (individual or group), including the use of skilled techniques as deemed appropriate by the supervising clinician
