Senior Policy and Planning Advisor

Senior Policy Advisor DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH Open Competition FREDERICTON (An alternate work location in New Brunswick may be considered)

The Department of Health is seeking an individual to join the Policy and Legislation Branch as a Senior Policy Advisor, to support sound decision-making at the senior leadership level in the Department of Health and the Regional Health Authorities.

As a Senior Policy Advisor, you will:

Lead research and policy analysis, develop policy options and prepare legislative and regulatory proposals according to established standards to support decision making by government;

Prepare briefing materials and brief the Minister and senior management on policy issues and legislative proposals;

You are adept at critical analysis and recognized for your sound judgement.

You have well-developed writing skills to prepare material where interpretation, analysis, assessment, creativity, knowledgeable use of terminology, and precise articulation of ideas or opinions, are necessary to communicate effectively.

Bachelor's degree in Law, Public or Business Administration, Health or Social Sciences, or a related field and a minimum of four years of related experience.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability on your application .
