uOttawas facilities encompass three main sites that are comprised of over 600000 square meters of building space (over 6.4 million square feet) 42.5 hectares of grounds 125 buildings and 4500 beds in 11 residences. There are over 150 employees in Facilities including Project Managers Energy and Commissioning Specialists Mechanical and Electrical Engineers Architects and space Planners. The facilities capital and operating expenditures are in the range of $100M for the Universitys $2.0 billion assets under management. The 20-year Capital spending plan envisions $4.0 billion of new investment highlighted by uOttawa launch of project Top Shelf a $300 million capital investment to build a new facility for the Faculty of Health Sciences at uOttawas River Campus as well as a tower at the Roger Guidon campus to house uOttawas new Advanced Medical Research Center (AMRC).

Under the supervision of the Senior Manager Project Management the Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of assigned projects within budget on schedule in accordance with the approved scope and applicable government codes all within established project methodologies. This position will support the team in the delivery of the program by contributing to other projects and monitoring projects advancement.

Project Management: Manage the delivery of assigned projects from initiation to completion and ensure project outputs are being delivered as per project objectives on schedule to budget and to the required quality. Ensure clear objectives are established for assigned projects by discussing project priorities with client developing project work plans and schedules. Identify and escalate project issues and risks to the Project Manager III for guidance or resolution.
Project Support: Provide support to Project Managers by contributing to the project development through the gathering and/or editing of various information such as project specifications plans bid information etc. Participate and provide support at different stages of projects by participating to the request for proposal process monitoring project progress according to contract requirements ensuring follow-up and communications are clear and efficient with all stakeholders and monitoring and gathering various information related to service providers performance. Also provide support in coordinating and tracking all project related correspondence including meeting minutes change orders or other instructions etc.
Stakeholder Relationship: Proactively liaise with and report progress to internal client or project sponsor for assigned projects to ensure that they are informed of project progress and ensure that their opinions or requirements are taken into consideration as the project progresses. Establish and maintain positive and effective working relations with all members of the project delivery team and operations team to ensure the efficiency of interactions between the teams.
Contract and Performance Management: For assigned projects monitor progress according to contract requirements and ensure proper follow-up is made with professional consultants contractors suppliers and vendors. Monitor the performance of professional consultants contractors suppliers and vendors and reinforce contract requirements to ensure the terms of contracts are fulfilled.

Post-secondary certification or technology diploma in Engineering Architecture or Project Management with three (3) years of relevant experience in the construction field;
Demonstrated knowledge of construction methods building systems and terminology;
Leadership abilities in the delivery of projects;
Excellent client service/management interpersonal problem-solving verbal and written communication skills;
Bilingualism (French and English) oral and written.
