Worley Canada Construction is seeking a Junior to Intermediate Project Accountant to join our Finance team in the Edmonton office.

Edmonton Head Office Hybrid Work from Home based schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Monday-Thursday 8.75 hours per day, Friday 5 hour day).
Must have a reliable means of transportation as there is no public transit to our office location.
Support set up and maintenance of projects in the business system in accordance with accounting policies; establishes and maintains pricing schedules, customer details, payment plans, invoicing calendars, and multicurrency billing.
Support Billing on large projects with complex commercial terms
Reviews project transaction documents and accounts for accuracy and completeness, including sub-charges, data sheets, time reports, expenses, subcontractor invoices, etc.
Produces customer invoices, credit notes, and back up documentation
Reviews draft invoices for accuracy prior to submitting for Project Manager approval.
Ensures billings do not exceed approved budget limits and works with Project Managers and Project Controls to resolve issues.
Performs weekly review of project revenue recognition in business system; takes action on projects not generating revenue.
Identifies areas of potential project gross margin improvement; ensures accurate recovery of all costs as defined in the contract and ensures non-billable costs are minimized.
Gathers project accruals and provisions information as needed.
Works directly with customers to ensure invoices have been received, approved, and actioned.
Provides regular invoice status updates to Project Managers.
Reconciliation of various projects and accounts.
Perform Project financial close-out activities.
Works collaboratively across the Finance team - ad hoc duties as required
Relevant undergraduate degree / diploma is required

• 1 - 5 years' experience in a project accounting function is required
• Construction industry or Engineering project accounting experience is an asset
• CMA, CA, CFA, CPA or CGA designation or nearing completion is considered is an asset
• Familiar with ERP and BI environments
• Attention to details and able to process large data sets
• Familiar with all Microsoft products with Strong excel and familiar with PowerBI
• Technical and analytical accounting skills
• Project size, complexity, and/or risk increases with each level in the Project Accounting roles
• Consulting projects/processes knowledge an asset
• Advanced Excel skills
