Kelowna Community Health and Services Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Casual Medical Office Assistant to join their team in Kelowna, B.The successful candidate will provide administrative and operational support to the Seniors Health & Wellness Centre, Health Unit Aide team, and Doyle Community Clinic Administration. Hours of work are Days, Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00
Typing Test – Minimum 40 wpm, completed within the last 24 months from a recognized institution. Click here for testing details.
Medical Office Assistant – Certificate or proof of course completion
Education & Experience – Grade 12 plus two years’ recent related experience (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)

Answering telephones, general correspondence, record keeping, chart notes, reports, medical billings
Data entry and word processing, graphic and database applications,
Writing correspondence including: recording, transcribing and typing forms
Managing medical/surgical supplies and equipment and other resource material.
Escorting patients to examination/treatment rooms and ensuring appropriate instruments, procedure trays or other supplies are set up;
Cleaning and sterilizing medical equipment and instruments as well as delivery and disposal of supplies, biological, material and equipment
