Our Shop Supervisors lead and supervise the day-to-day activities of the shop personnel and ensure that all company objectives are met in regard to safety, quality, productivity and cost. Reporting to the Focused Shop Manager, all shop personnel

On-site in Cambridge, Ontario – shift to be determined

Your Day to Day as Shop Supervisor:
Hold toolbox talks at the beginning of each shift to heighten awareness of safety during the work day.
Perform accident investigations with JHSC and EHS as required, ensure personal protective equipment is in place as well as train employees on the use of personal protective equipment.
Perform temporary transfers of employees.
Ensure schedules are communicated to shop personnel and best efforts are conveyed to achieve schedule commitments through ToolBox Talks, Pre-Job Briefings and individual interface(s).

Manage Shop Personnel
Manage shop personnel according to collective agreement and maintain a professional relationship with employees.
Manage attendance, time, and vacation of shop personnel and able to perform manual computer inputting to verify employee statuses.
Provide coaching and issue discipline, as needed.

Ability to provide computer manual labour inputs with accuracy and recognition of balancing shop needs.
Training
~ Ensure all employees are trained in BWXT’s procedures and support quality objectives and safety objectives.

College Diploma (Technical, Welding Technician, Fitter, Fabricator, etc.) Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. Experience with SAP is an asset.

Security Clearance:
This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.
