Day Shift Fabrication Welder

a Wabtec Company in Cambridge, Ontario, offers custom design and truck-body manufacturing and upfitting of utility, service, construction, railway and other custom truck bodies. Our environmentally-friendly truck bodies are researched, designed and customized to our customers’ satisfaction.

We currently have an opening for a Welder. you will be working daily in the Welding Department with the Welding Supervisor and a group of approximately 8 other Welders.

Uphold priorities of Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement and Teamwork;
Perform work that is accurate and finished so that your internal customers, the Paint and Assembly Departments, can perform their work without disruption.

High School/GED diploma required;
Stamina and strength to perform manual labour; Experience in welding/fabrication and fitting skills in aluminum and steel;
Apply safe automotive/manufacturing work practices and become familiar with equipment (saw, drill press, iron worker, welding machine);

~ Use overhead and gantry cranes efficiently and safely and exhibit safe rigging practices;
Set up welding machines to weld different thicknesses of material;
Document material usage and scrap correctly;
Assist in other areas of production as needed, if qualified.

Day shift: 41-hour work week, 7 a.m. 30.00 - $33.59 per hour;
