General Stewart serves approximately 100 students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 with one class at each grade level. The size of our school is also one of its biggest assets as it allows us to get to know each other very well and very quickly. General Stewart Elementary School is seeking a Grade 1 Teacher to join their team at the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year! The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong foundation in student support and hold an unwavering belief that every child is a capable learner and will have:
Experience teaching in division one;
Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.

In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School
A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
