Through a wide array of experiential learning opportunities, and strategic relationships in the community, we partner with others to produce graduates of stature. MacEwan University is seeking 2 passionate Student Leadership Assistants for casual opportunities with our Student Life department. Reporting to the Leadership Education Specialist, you will provide leadership opportunities and development programs for MacEwan students. In this role, you will assist with student programming and student leadership opportunities with a specific focus on the MacEwan Ambassador Program, Golden Key International Honour Society Chapter, Emerging Leaders program, Training and Learning Grant, Volunteer program, as well as other assigned duties.

Assisting the Student Leadership Specialist in planning and preparing Leadership & Engagement portfolio programs for the upcoming academic year;

Helping coordinate program timelines, materials, and logistics for the MacEwen Ambassador Program, Golden Key Honour Society, Volunteer Program, and Emerging Leaders Certificate;

Supporting the recruitment of student participants for leadership and volunteer programs through outreach, tabling, class visits, and digital communication;

Preparing and distributing promotional and informational materials for events and programs such as posters, emails, digital screens, and social media content;

Assisting in the development and delivery of leadership training and information sessions;

Updating training resources, manuals, and presentation materials to ensure accuracy and accessibility;

Researching and helping connect with internal departments and external community organizations to identify partnership and volunteer opportunities for students;

Monitoring volunteer hour submissions to ensure proper reporting and documentation;

Assisting in planning and executing events such as the annual Volunteer Fair, leadership workshops, and recognition activities;

Collaborating with university departments, student groups, and external partners to support cross campus leadership initiatives; Providing general administrative support to the Student Leadership Specialist, including scheduling, communications, meeting preparation, and document creation.

Strong verbal, written and public speaking skills;

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications.

Experience with key social media platforms (Instagram and Facebook).

A variety of student leadership, volunteer, and campus involvement experiences documented on your Student Experience Record would be considered an asset.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Currently enrolled as a full-time student at MacEwan University, with a minimum of 18 credits completed in your program of study.

Must be in good academic standing with a minimum 2.70 GPA.

The ability to work part-time from May 2026 to March 31, 2027.
