Our company is looking for a Mechanical Superintendent to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor operation of plant equipment and systems;
  • Hold monthly safety crew and maintenance team meetings;
  • Investigate and Complete Accident/Incident Reports;
  • Complete Hot Work Permits;
  • Assist with planning shut downs;
  • Participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant performance;
  • Establish and maintain a maintenance management system for tracking work orders,
  • Assist with hiring of maintenance personnel;
  • Develop and implement structured preventative and predictive maintenance programs;
  • Communicate directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work;
  • Maintain and repair maintenance shop equipment;
  • Perform other tasks or jobs as required;
  • Maintain and update operating and training manuals for the maintenance department;
  • Supervise and direct Contractors when they are on-site;
  • Head the Weekly Scheduling Meeting along with all Maintenance Shutdown Meetings.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and organization skills with ability to lead and develop a team of skilled trades staff;
  • Strong knowledge of Preventative Maintenance, CMMS, Mechanical/Electrical systems and quality control systems within a manufacturing environment;
  • Experience working in a unionized environment;
  • Proven leadership experience at a manager or supervisory level in maintenance or engineering is a prerequisite;
  • Mechanical/Electrical Engineer preferred and/or 10 years experience minimum.
