Mechanical Superintendent Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Mechanical Superintendent to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor operation of plant equipment and systems;
- Hold monthly safety crew and maintenance team meetings;
- Investigate and Complete Accident/Incident Reports;
- Complete Hot Work Permits;
- Assist with planning shut downs;
- Participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant performance;
- Establish and maintain a maintenance management system for tracking work orders,
- Assist with hiring of maintenance personnel;
- Develop and implement structured preventative and predictive maintenance programs;
- Communicate directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work;
- Maintain and repair maintenance shop equipment;
- Perform other tasks or jobs as required;
- Maintain and update operating and training manuals for the maintenance department;
- Supervise and direct Contractors when they are on-site;
- Head the Weekly Scheduling Meeting along with all Maintenance Shutdown Meetings.
Requirements:
- Strong communication and organization skills with ability to lead and develop a team of skilled trades staff;
- Strong knowledge of Preventative Maintenance, CMMS, Mechanical/Electrical systems and quality control systems within a manufacturing environment;
- Experience working in a unionized environment;
- Proven leadership experience at a manager or supervisory level in maintenance or engineering is a prerequisite;
- Mechanical/Electrical Engineer preferred and/or 10 years experience minimum.
